Becoming An NBA Fan In Cebu Despite Not Being A Basketball Player At All

Mama’s Little Basketball Player

I think my mother secretly wanted me to be a basketball player but she respected every path I want to pursue in life.

I miss my mother so much. My mother Conchita passed away May 2024 and I want to commemorate my memories as a part of this blog. My family has been a sports fan as far as I can remember. My mother’s favorite sport is Volleyball because when we discuss things like sports, she always mentions how good she is at curving the ball every time she spikes it.

Childhood Memories Of 1990s NBA

The 1990s were surely memorable but sadly I can’t remember any of these NBA highlights.

The only thing about I remember in my childhood about NBA is the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan. The year 1993 was when he quit Chicago Bulls and at that time I was just 4 years old. Even after he stopped playing for the Chicago Bulls, I was still able to watch the games because of the TV Network during that time broadcasted old NBA replays.

The most famous roster for Chicago Bulls that time was none other than Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen. Let’s not forget Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal as those are the also the other famous NBA Athletes I can clearly remember in the early 1990s.

Most Famous NBA Athletes of 2020s

The only famous NBA players I know this year is LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Victor Wembanyama, and LaMelo Ball because they’re viral in social media. I don’t even know what teams they’re on. In fact, I don’t even know when to start watching the NBA or even which team to bet on. Anyone out there reading this blog have a suggestion?

Investing As An NBA & Basketball Hobbyist In The Philippines

I’m going to be honest with everyone. I’m never going to be a basketball player. I can play as a hobby and to socialize but never a professional. There was a time that I wanted to be baller but playing basketball games never really came into me as a passion. It felt more like a peer pressure because basketball in the Philippines is like our 2nd religion.

At my age now, I’m much more focused on the financial side. When it comes to basketball, I might be into Trading Card Collectibles or start a Basketball Merchandise Shop. Sports Betting is in the menu but it’s the riskiest of the lot. Oh yeah, and since I’m into blogging I can make content about writing articles, filming, and documenting to cover stories about everything in National Basketball Association.
