Uncle Brew Pork Sisig Review: Bad And Expensive Filipino Meal

Uncle Brew Is My Neighbor

There was just a newly opened Uncle Brew just a few steps away from my home. I tried their drinks multiple times until a familiar dish got my attention—the pork sisig at ₱99.

Look at the small portion of pork sisig. I can buy the same thing for ₱55 and the rice for ₱20 for a lot more quantity for the total price of ₱75 from my neighbors home-cooked food joint.

The Pork Sisig Is Meh The Rice Is Dry

Let’s get straight to the point. Their pork sisig tastes exactly the same as any other pork sisig. Nothing really special. I think what’s missing is the crispy and juicy kick it has because it’s not cooked fresh. Their food is preserved in a freezer and heated in an oven. It lacks the natural flavor of a freshly cooked meal. It’s just expensive overall. I can get the exact same thing from another food joint for half the price. Since the meal is oven cooked, it’s super dry. It’s in a sealed package and been left in storage for a while.

The packaging said it’s from February 24, 2025 and I ate this one on March 9, 2025. That’s almost two weeks old, bro! No wonder the flavor was dead. The rice is so dry that it tastes like you’re eating an eraser. It had no moisture like a freshly cooked rice. The only moisture you’re going to get is the oil from the pork sisig.

A Big NO For Uncle Brew Pork Sisig

Robin Laviña gives a thumbs down to Uncle Brew pork sisig meal. He is eating in the outdoor kitchen and showing the empty black food container with wooden spoon and fork placed inside.

If you ever think of getting pork sisig after a hard day at work, don’t go for Uncle Brew. Go get it from somewhere else. It’s not worth the price as this famous Filipino meal ended up being expensive and not worth the money unless you are desperate, hungry and with no other option available.
